Australian Candidate For IWCA Europe President

A President and 7 board members will be voted for on May 4th.

Peter Monkhouse, a well known and highly respected figure in the Australian Class has thrown his hat into the ring for the European Presidents role. In a lengthy WhatsApp post on the IWCA World Group Peter explains his reasons for standing. Europeans are a litle bemused by the move. But Monkhouse says that his main motivation is to further strengthen the bonds between the two largest groups of LT sailiors, Europe and Australia. "How are we to work closely without an Australian in a prominent position on the European IWCA Board" he asks. "As a class we are about being inclusive" he says. "So why not an Australian President"? "This isn't about flying an Australian flag. It's about lifting the whole Class. It's more about leadership, energy, ideas and commitment - not just geography". More to follow...
